|
Seattle, Washington San Francisco attorneys, Gordon Endow (Co-author of the Gordon & Rees Diversity Report) and Aristotle Evia (an Officer with the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California ("FBANC")) attended the American Bar Association ("ABA") National Conference for the Minority Lawyer in Seattle, Washington. The conference provided valuable and substantive continuing legal education ("CLE"), as well as worthwhile networking events. The ABA Conference began with a well-attended reception hosted by Seattle's Microsoft Corporation, Starbucks Coffee Company ("Starbucks"), & Perkins Coie LLP. Paula Boggs -- Starbucks' Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary -- gave a rousing welcome and an inspiring keynote address, which touched on how her experiences as an Airborne-qualified U.S. Army officer, an adjunct law school professor, and a government attorney, shaped the way she practices law and finds balance in her life. The ABA conference provides a platform opportunity for lawyers from around the nation to meet, exchange ideas, refer business to each other, and create more equal opportunities for minorities in the legal profession. |
