6th Annual Bay Area BAAPALSA Conference

Gordon & Rees LLP was a sponsor for the 6th annual Bay Area Asian and Pacific American Law Student Association (“BAAPALSA”) Conference. G&R attorneys Anna Kathryn Benedict, Joseph Chun and Aristotle Evia attended the event which included various workshops. Keynote speaker Jeff Adachi, the first Asian American elected Public Defender in San Francisco spoke on the challenges facing Asian American attorneys. Attendees honored Dale Minami, lead counsel in the landmark Korematsu case, who received the Building Bridges Lifetime Achievement Award for his diverse and numerous accomplishments. In his acceptance speech, Mr. Minami discussed the importance of civil rights in the modern era.
