Gordon & Rees LLP with offices in California and throughout the United States actively supports achieving greater ethnic and racial diversity within the legal profession through its various sponsorship and education programs.
The firm is funding three 2007 LSAT Scholarships to financially disadvantaged minority students to help increase the pipeline of minorities in the legal profession. The $2500 stipend will defray the cost of LSAT preparation classes and law school application fees. This novel idea originated from a Gordon & Rees minority associate who lamented that many of his minority undergraduate class mates were hindered in considering a career in law due to the expenses associated with the LSAT.
This year, applications are restricted to undergraduate students from the following four year public colleges in the San Francisco Bay Area and San Diego: University of California, Berkeley, San Francisco State University, San Jose State University, California State University East Bay, University of California, San Diego and San Diego State University. Gordon & Rees hopes to expand this geography in the future. For a copy of the Gordon & Rees LSAT Scholar application, click here. Completed LSAT scholarship applications are due June 29, 2007.
Gordon & Rees employees are also eligible to apply for this scholarship (limited to one scholarship). For more information email mwong@gordonrees.com.
