Tamara Seelman, Of Counsel with the Denver office of Gordon & Rees, will be speaking at the annual Defense Research Institute (DRI) conference on October 25th. Ms. Seelman will be speaking as part of a seven person panel called, " Commercial Litigation-Like Drinking from a Firehose." The conference will take place from October 24th-28th at the Marriott Hotel in New Orleans.
Ms. Seelman will be discussing securities litigation, and specifically how courts have been interpreting the recent Supreme Court Decision of Janus v. First Derivative Traders. Since the decision, many corporate officers, accountants, bankers, and attorneys have sought dismissals of securities fraud claims based upon Janus. The lower court's application of Janus has been mixed and at times contradictory depending upon the jurisdiction.
