The American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry will hold its 2016 Midwinter Meeting on January 21 – 22, 2016 at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco. Gordon & Rees Seattle partner Allen Estes will serve as co-chair of the program.
The Midwinter Meeting will focus on fundamental techniques to “providing good counsel to clients who are presented with unexpected challenges.” San Francisco partner Sandy Kaplan will be speaking at the presentation titled “It’s a Catastrophe, but We Have a Force Majeure Clause, So No Worries, Right?” taking place on Friday, January 22. His session will focus on “recent case interpretations and drafting strategies for the new era of force majeure occurrences, including climate changes, rising sea levels, terrorism threats and material shortages and embargoes.” San Francisco partners Ernie Isola and Ben Patrick will be Session Coordinators at the program.
