Elizabeth Bailey is senior counsel and a member of the Commercial Litigation, Construction and Employment practice groups. Ms. Bailey is an experienced litigator in South Carolina, where she has practiced for thirteen years, including serving as lead counsel in jury and non-jury trials and participating in appellate proceedings. In 2012, she was an adjunct professor at the Charleston School of Law, teaching Legal Research, Analysis and Writing.
Ms. Bailey has experience with a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including contract actions, financial services, debt collection actions, tort and product liability and insurance coverage. She has also defended product manufacturers, contractors, subcontractors and design professionals against allegations of construction defects in both commercial and residential projects. She has tried numerous cases to verdict and argued before South Carolina appellate courts. Ms. Bailey has represented employers in several state and Federal employment law matters. She has prepared employment manuals and personnel policies, non-disclosure agreements, non-competition agreements, employment agreements, and severance agreements.
