Anthony Mulrain is the Managing Partner of Gordon & Rees’s Atlanta office and a member of the Commercial Litigation and Business Transactions practice groups.  Mr. Mulrain is also Chair of the firm’s Sports, Media, and Entertainment Law practice and a nationally recognized expert in this field with more than 15 years of experience.

Mr. Mulrain’s national litigation practice includes the representation of a broad range of clients, from athletes, entertainers and sports agents to publicly-traded, global media and telecommunications entities. Mr. Mulrain has a particular expertise in protecting and preserving the brand of professional athletes and entertainers who are involved in litigation matters. In that regard, he has handled numerous first amendment, defamation, rights to privacy, family and social media matters.  Among Mr. Mulrain's publicly reported decisions are the defense of actress Gabrielle Union in Siohvaughn Wade v. Gabrielle Union and the representation of basketball player Dwight Howard in Dwight Howard v. Royce Reed.

Mr. Mulrain also serves as counsel to athletes and numerous elite NBA, NFL, and MLB players, including at least one overall number one draft pick in all three major team sports.  His clients include Olympic Gold Medalists, a Heisman Trophy Award Winner, an NBA Defense Player of the Year and an NBA All Star Game MVP.  He provides business and legal advice and counsel to athletes, agents, and advisors on NCAA Regulation Compliance.  His clients include members of the Carolina Panthers, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Orlando Magic, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Heat, Arizona Diamondbacks, Milwaukee Brewers, Tampa Bay Rays, and numerous other teams.  Mr. Mulrain has also represented well known figures in sports and entertainment in a variety of high profile litigation and arbitration matters throughout the U.S.

Mr. Mulrain’s entertainment and media practice is national in scope and includes negotiating business transactions for actors, writers, producers, and directors in the television and motion picture industries.  His clients have played prominent roles on television shows and in films including A Current Affair, CSI: New York, Everybody Hates Chris, Happily Divorced, Single Ladies, and The Real McCoy, to name a few. He also counsels accredited, sophisticated, and institutional investors, domestically and abroad, on investments in the entertainment industry.  His wide-ranging experience includes project financing, co-financing, and co-production in both the music and motion picture industries.
