
Donald W. Rees, one of the founding partners of Gordon & Rees, is a member of the firm’s Insurance, Professional Liability, International Law and Commercial Litigation practice groups. Since graduating from Stanford Law School, he has had a varied civil litigation practice, and for several years Mr. Rees has concentrated on representing the interests of financial institutions, including insurers, reinsurers, broker-dealers, their representatives and the insurance industry.
Gordon & Rees represents many of the leading insurers and reinsurers doing business in the United States. These companies have retained Mr. Rees, and other attorneys at Gordon & Rees, to represent them in a variety of matters, including the defense of bad faith claims, rescission actions, sales practices, coverage litigation, the monitoring of litigation, policy drafting, reinsurance disputes, and the preparation of coverage opinions.
In addition, Mr. Rees has represented insurance brokers and agents in connection with errors and omissions claims, broker-dealers and life insurers in arbitrations and in various litigated matters.
Mr. Rees maintains his principal office in San Francisco, and handles matters in various jurisdictions.
Mr. Rees has lectured and written extensively and has participated in many programs sponsored by various groups, including the Practicing Law Institute, ABA, the Defense Research Institute and IACP.
