Gordon & Rees LLP Sponsors Coro 11th Annual Leadership Luncheon

On April 21, 2006, Gordon & Rees LLP sponsored the Coro Center for Civic Leadership 11th Annual Leadership Luncheon held at the San Francisco Marriot Hotel. Representing the firm was Aris Evia (a 1996-97 Coro Fellow in Los Angeles). This inspiring event drew nearly 1,000 business, government and community leaders. The Coro luncheon always provides a great opportunity to signal the San Francisco community's commitment to investing in the people who manage socially responsible businesses, write our legislation, advocate for effective public policies, and direct our non-profit organizations. Coro Fellows and other participants contribute over 10,000 hours of service back to the community every year.

Scott Shafer, the host of KQED's The California Report and Coro Board Member, served as Master of Ceremonies. Judi and Buz Kanter served as the Honorary Chairs of the luncheon. This years's keynote speaker was Bill Drayton, Founder and CEO of Ashoka. Mr. Drayton was named one of the 25 most influential leaders of 2005 by Harvard University and U.S. News and World Report. Coro's Crystal Eagle Awardee was Esta Soler, founder and president of the Family Violence Prevention Fund, who was recognized for her pioneering work on behalf of women and children worldwide.
