Atlanta partner Donald Woodard will be a co-panelist at the Northside Festival in Brooklyn, NY on June 14-15. The festival is New York City's largest and most accessible discovery festival where hundreds of bands, entrepreneurs, filmmakers and innovators gather to witness the most incredible showcase of "what's next" in music, film, entrepreneurship, and art.
Mr. Woodard will be joined by some of the music and entertainment industry’s most distinguished executives to discuss the topic of “Modern Trends in Music Publishing and Performance Rights.” The panel will address the impact of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act on music publishing, the advantages and disadvantages to holding publishing rights versus hiring a publishing company to manage the publishing aspect of the business, traditional and digital music publishing income streams and The Performance Rights Act. Best practices on maximizing revenue from a publishing perspective will also be discussed.
In May 2011, Donald Woodard was named an "Atlanta Powerpreneur" by the Atlanta Mayor's Office and he has been recognized as "One of The 100 Most Influential People in Entertainment" by Rolling Out magazine.
