Phillip Maltin Presents Deposition Skills Workshop for the Trial Advocacy Program

March 2012

Phillip Maltin, a partner in the Los Angeles office, will present a "Deposition Skills Workshop" for the Los Angeles County Bar Association on March 17, 2012.  The seminar results from a collaboration between the Trial Advocacy Project, in which Mr. Maltin is also an instructor, and the county bar association.  The workshop is designed for introductory to intermediate level attorneys.  In it, Mr. Maltin focuses on taking and defending oral depositions and using deposition testimony in trial.  He also reveals the single most powerful technique for attacking credibility and uncovering liars.

Phillip Maltin is a trial lawyer in Gordon & Rees's Los Angeles office and a member of the firm's Employment Law and Commercial Litigation practice groups.  As a nationally recognized speaker, Mr. Maltin combines his knowledge of substantive law with experience gained as both a criminal prosecutor and private attorney. Mr. Maltin prosecutes criminal cases for the City of Los Angeles through the Fellowship Program of the prestigious Trial Advocacy Project ("TAP"), where he is a fully credentialed Instructor.  Mr. Maltin is also nationally known as the creator of The READ System used to evaluate body language.  Mr. Maltin is recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyer, an elite distinction given to no more than five percent of the Southern California Bar.
