Gordon & Rees Philadelphia Office Tops on "Lateral Moves" List

The Legal Intelligencer recently recognized the Philadelphia office of Gordon & Rees on its list of 2013’s top lateral moves.

TLI, Pennsylvania’s premier legal journal, cites the addition of Philadelphia office managing partner William P. Shelley and partners Joseph A. Arnold, Jacob C. Cohn, Ann Thornton Field, Sara Anderson FreyC. Tyler Havey, James E. Robinson, Catherine Slavin and Joshua Wall as one of last year’s top 10 groups of lateral hires. The team left Cozen O’Connor last February to launch Gordon & Rees’s new Philadelphia office – the firm’s second location in Pennsylvania and one of three offices Gordon & Rees opened in 2013.

“Since opening almost a year ago, the Philadelphia office has grown to 17 lawyers, and we plan to continue expanding,” Shelley says. “Gordon & Rees’s national footprint and depth and breadth of service capabilities made the decision to join the firm much easier, and the move has been a boon to our practices.”

Profiles of the top laterals and details about each move will be included in TLI’s Feb. 25 Top Lateral Hires of 2013 supplement. To read TLI’s “Top Lateral Hires of 2013,” click here.

Founded in San Francisco in 1974, Gordon & Rees is a top 100 national litigation and business transactions firm with more than 550 lawyers and 30 offices in 20 states. In 2013, The National Law Journal ranked the firm 95th on its list of the largest U.S. firms and The American Lawyer ranked the firm at No. 139 on its Am Law 200 list and at No. 21 on its Diversity Scorecard list. Gordon & Rees has been ranked as a “BTI Client Service All-Star” for the past three years and has been honored as a 2014 "Go-To Law Firm" for Fortune 500 companies as well as selected for inclusion on Corporate Counsel magazine’s 2013 “Who Represents America’s Biggest Companies” list.
