Gordon & Rees Attorney Saraa Basaria Selected to the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA) Leadership Academy

Boston Associate Saraa Basaria was recently selected to be a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA) Leadership Academy. Basaria will join an elite group of 21 attorneys throughout Massachusetts who will have the opportunity to network, collaborate and build relationships with bar leaders, develop and enhance leadership skills important to their future in the legal profession, and get an insider's look at the important role the MBA plays within the legal system.

The MBA Leadership Academy was designed to offer qualified young attorneys training on how to best lead firms and organizations and it recognizes its obligation as a statewide bar association to develop leaders who will work diligently toward the improvement of the legal profession and our society. After successful completion of the academy's curriculum of educational programming, class projects and mentoring, MBA Leadership Academy graduates will be better prepared to assume leadership roles at the bar, in their firms or organizations, and in government.

Basaria is currently president of the South Asian Bar Association of Greater Boston and a member of the Gordon & Rees Diversity Committee. She is a member of the Construction Practice Group and focuses her practice on construction litigation, commercial litigation and professional liability defense. Her practice includes the defense of actions brought against architects, engineers, developers, real estate brokers, and other professionals. She has practiced in Massachusetts district and superior court in numerous proceedings, including jury trials, jury-waived trials, and evidentiary and non-evidentiary hearings. Drawing on her four-year stint as a Public Defender, Basaria also handles criminal cases.
