Gordon & Rees ranks among top law firms in the country for numbers of partners in practice groups on the 2015 “Law360 100,” Law360’s annual ranking that showcases the 100 U.S. law firms with the most partners in practice groups globally. Rankings are established by partner head count data from 283 U.S.-based law firms, including 197 of the largest 200 firms in the country.
Gordon & Rees ranked 11th with the most environmental partners, 16th with the most insurance partners, 17th with the most labor and employment partners and 40th with the most product liability partners. The rankings are consistent with the firm's position of 53rd on the 2016 "Law360 400" list of largest U.S. law firms. This represents an 18-spot move for the firm, up from No. 71 in the 2015 list here.
For two years in a row, the firm has grown its U.S. headcount by more than 12 percent, adding nearly 90 attorneys in 2015 alone, all without engaging in large scale mergers. As of Dec. 31, 2015, Gordon & Rees reported 691 U.S. attorneys and 283 U.S. partners.
Since 2000, Gordon & Rees has nearly tripled in size, adding nearly 30 offices, and has a major office in eight of the 10 largest cities in the United States. In 2015 alone, Gordon & Rees opened four new offices: Harrisburg, Penn.; Boston, Mass.; Columbus, Oh.; and Wheeling, W.V. As of April 2016, Gordon & Rees opened one office in White Plains, N.Y., making a total of five new offices in the past 15 months.
