Gordon & Rees Elevates Mark Beckman and Brian Middlebrook to Partnership

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani recently elevated Mark A. Beckman and Brian E. Middlebrook to its partnership. Both attorneys are partner in the firm's New York office.

Mark A. Beckman has extensive experience representing corporate and individual clients in state and federal courts as well as agencies such as FINRA and the EEOC. Such representations include mediation, arbitration, and other forms of alternate dispute resolution. His practice focuses on representing clients in a variety of litigation areas. In commercial litigation, his representations include directors and officers of businesses of all sizes, professionals, and many businesses in commercial disputes such as breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, securities and shareholder related actions, and fraud. He has experience defending insurance companies against actions by insureds as well as competitors. Beckman also represents employers in employment law, particularly in wage-and-hour matters, and counsels his clients on best practices for structuring payment systems for their employees, record keeping obligations, and compliance with city, state, and federal law. He also represents his wage-and-hour clients in litigations, often putative class actions, regarding minimum wage, overtime, alleged misclassification, and department of labor investigations. He also has particular experience representing clients in the hospitality industry, such as restaurants and bars, regarding the payment and distribution of tips and tip pooling arrangements.

Brian E. Middlebrook focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, product liability, professional liability defense, privacy/data security, white collar criminal defense and municipal liability. He represents a broad range of clients, including individuals, corporations, professional sports organizations, directors and officers, attorneys, accountants, brokers, manufacturers, retailers, insurance carriers, and municipalities against claims of civil liability in state and federal courts in New York and throughout the United States. Middlebrook also regularly counsels clients on a broad range of cyber liability and risk avoidance issues, seeking to minimize exposure to regulatory action and litigation by assisting in the preparation of privacy policies, programs, and procedures, as well as a broad range of commercial agreements and product manuals/warnings.
