Carl Gebo has joined the Atlanta office of Gordon & Rees as a Partner in the Construction and Commercial Litigation groups. Mr. Gebo’s practice focuses on litigation relating to construction projects and government contracts, as well as providing advice on government contract compliance issues, legislation, regulations and developments in federal and state acquisition processes.
Mr. Gebo has represented government contractor clients with claims based on the Davis-Bacon Act, constructive changes, defective specifications, equitable adjustments, terminations for default and convenience, and violations of software license agreements in the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, various Boards of Contract Appeals and the United States Court of Federal Claims. He has also represented government contractors in the protest and defense of contract award decisions. His construction litigation experience includes the prosecution and defense of a wide range of claims arising from construction projects. He has tried, arbitrated and mediated claims based on mechanics liens, defective and negligent construction, breach of contract, professional design negligence, personal injury, defective product selection and installation, insolvency and non-performance, and scheduling and budgeting issues. Mr. Gebo has also negotiated and advised clients regarding construction, design professional, and construction management contracts for various types of construction projects. For commercial litigation clients Mr. Gebo has handled litigation matters of breach of contract, personal injury, covenants not to compete, real estate disputes, collection actions, breach of warranty, and insurance.
Mr. Gebo earned a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame. Between college and law school Mr. Gebo served in the U.S. Army as a Captain and helicopter pilot.
