Parks Stone Joins Gordon & Rees LLP

Parks Stone has joined the Atlanta office as an associate in the Commercial Litigation group.  Mr. Stone’s practice focuses on a broad range of complex business and commercial litigation matters, including employment cases, creditors’ rights issues, fraud, business torts, and commercial contract disputes.  Additionally, Mr. Stone’s practice includes defending insureds in trucking/transportation liability, professional malpractice, nursing home negligence, premises liability, and product liability claims.

Mr. Stone has extensive litigation experience in state and federal courts nationwide, including successfully drafting and arguing dispositive motions, conducting and defending depositions, negotiating settlements, and assisting with all aspects of trial. His experience includes the following:

• Representing creditor clients in numerous commercial lawsuits including obtaining and collecting upon judgments in matters involving contracts, open accounts, suits on promissory notes/guarantees, and other creditors’ rights matters. 
• Representing employers in defending EEOC claims and employment lawsuits.
• Defending numerous premises owners in liability claims involving falls, maintenance/inspection, and security issues.
• Defending nursing homes and assisted living facilities in negligence actions.
• Obtaining summary judgment on behalf of a real estate appraiser in a professional negligence case and obtained affirmance of the judgment on appeal.
• Obtaining dismissal and full award of attorney’s fees on behalf of an insurance company client in a bad faith/fraud case.

Mr. Stone earned his J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law and a B.A. from Vanderbilt University.
