Los Angeles, which is both the third oldest and third largest of Gordon & Rees’ offices, was opened in 1998 and has grown to 70 attorneys specializing in employment advice and litigation; insurance coverage advice and litigation; ERISA; business/commercial litigation including Real Estate, Franchise, first amendment, Class Action, Financial Institutions, Intellectual Property and entertainment industry litigation; as well as Professional Liability Defense; Products Liability; and White Collar Crime.

The diversity of our client base reflects the breadth of our practice areas and expertise. Our clients include individuals and businesses ranging from small and mid-sized companies, to Fortune 500 companies, including industry leaders in the fields of insurance, real estate, construction, financial services, security, manufacturing, hospitality and entertainment.

Our lawyers have tried more than 100 jury trials to verdict in state and federal court covering many different areas of law. We also have extensive experience representing clients in appellate matters before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and California Courts of Appeal, and have many reported appellate decisions. The well-proven trial skills of our lawyers is recognized by numerous organizations, including the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates.

The Los Angeles office also provides clients with lawyers who have unique backgrounds before entering the private practice of law. For example, our team includes a lawyer who served in the Major Crimes Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles, a lawyer who served in the Department of Justice, and a lawyer who was an in-house attorney at a major oil company handling business litigation (franchise, unfair competition and trademark disputes). Lawyers in our Los Angeles office are also active members of important business and legal associations, including the Society for Human Resource Management, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, the California State Bar Franchise Committee, and the Product Liability Advisory Counsel. One of our lawyers also currently serves as the Chair of the Aviation and Aerospace SLG within the Defense Research Institute and the Chair of the ABA Automobile Law General Committee.

The attorneys in the Los Angeles office enjoy a reputation for providing efficient, results-oriented representation to their diverse client base. Responsiveness and a focus on client goals have enabled the Los Angeles office to achieve dramatic growth during a time of contraction in the legal services industry.
