Overview

Labor

GRSM's Labor Relations Group represent employers in all aspects of Union-Management relations, including maintaining Union-free status, fostering pro-active employee relations, and strategizing effective responses to all levels of Union organizing threats.

The Labor group has extensive experience practicing before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and similar agencies, such as the Agricultural Labor Relations Board in California. The Labor Group has a diverse list of clients in strategic industries that includes hotels, resorts, private clubs, rental car companies, long term care facilities, medical groups, hospitals, family and child care service agencies, entertainment, food sales and distribution, restaurants, publishing, education, transportation, auto dealers, parking, construction, manufacturing, technology and aerospace.

Our labor attorneys achieve remarkable success for clients in labor relations matters such as organizing drives, investigating and responding to Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) charges, litigating ULP allegations before the Board, manager training, collective bargaining negotiations, contract administration and grievance resolution.

Our group also provides expert advice related to bargaining obligations and pension issues arising out of mergers and acquisitions, including successor liability and potential ERISA-based withdrawal liability.

Stopping Problems Before they Start

GRSM's Labor Group also counsels management clients on resolving challenging employee/employer problems and union-free environments. We believe in developing a culture of compliance and mutual respect, which balances the needs of employees and the Employer, is one of our most important objectives. Whether in a union or non-union environment, we have found that a culture of mutual respect and legal compliance benefits all parties, and avoid costly conflicts.

Finally, when conflicts do arise, our group is well-versed in strategic contingency planning, and can provide expert advice with respect to strikes and picketing activity, and the establishment of enforceable reserve gate systems and other measures to minimize any disruptions.
