Gordon & Rees Partner S. Manoj Jegasothy Participates in Pittsburgh Business Times Law Forum Roundtable

The Pittsburgh Business Times recently invited S. Manoj Jegasothy, managing partner of Gordon & Rees’s Pittsburgh office, to participate in a law forum roundtable in which five panelists discussed their leadership roles in law firms based outside Pennsylvania. The Business Times published an edited transcript of the discussion on May 17.

At the mid-April roundtable, Jegasothy -- a member of Gordon & Rees’s Commercial Litigation, Tort & Product Liability, Employment Law, and Drug & Medical Device Practice Groups and co-chair of the Corporate / Shareholder Disputes Group -- talked about the firm’s continued growth nationally and in Pittsburgh, diversity issues, and lateral hiring, among other topics.

“Specifically with respect to growth, what we’re trying to do is grow through our existing network in Pittsburgh. . . . [W]e’re really trying to go out and look for people that we know would be a fit. . . . We think we’ve made a statement that we’re here in the market and we plan on staying in the market and we want laterals who feel the same way. So those are things we’re looking for and that’s kind of the approach we’re taking,” Jegasothy said.

Since it opened in March 2012, Gordon & Rees’s Pittsburgh office has expanded to include 14 attorneys who handle commercial litigation as well as product liability, toxic tort, employment, insurance coverage, antitrust, class action, construction and health-care litigation. Gordon & Rees’s addition of the lawyers in the Pittsburgh office recently was cited on The Legal Intelligencer’s list of 2012’s top lateral hires.
