In a confidential transaction, Mark Davis led a team of Gordon & Rees business and intellectual property lawyers in closing a complex asset sale and patent license transaction on behalf of a client with important intellectual property in the field of electronic publishing, e-reader technology, and related applications. The purchaser, a significant public company in the e-publishing and e-reader fields, will integrate the technology into a suite of products. Gordon Endow handled the intellectual property aspects of the transaction, which included a complicated patent license. The client's CEO also became an executive of the Buyer. The G&R team handled that aspect of the transaction as well. Carol Schaner (Orange County) provided assistance with various tax issues and Heather Irwin assisted Mark with the employment agreement and related employment counseling issues.
