Gordon & Rees Hosts Annual Diversity Reception for the University of San Francisco School of Law

On February 18, the San Francisco office of Gordon & Rees hosted the annual Diversity Reception for the University of San Francisco School of Law.  Approximately 85 diverse law students from USF, professors, and Gordon & Rees attorneys attended.  The event celebrated  USF's commitment to diversity at the law school and in the legal profession. The reception provided an opportunity for students, faculty, staff, and alumni to deepen the diversity network and celebrate successes in the advancement of lawyer diversity.

San Francisco Managing Partner and USF alum James Reilly welcomed the attendees and acknowledged the important role the school has played in the development of the firm as shown by the number of alumni among its members.  Firmwide Diversity Chair Jack McCowan spoke about the importance of diversity in the legal profession and firm's efforts to promote it.  Dean Jeffrey Brand thanked the firm for its "unwavering commitment to diversity."

This reception represents Gordon & Rees's ongoing commitment to diversity in the legal community and is one of the initiatives focusing on "Filling The Minority Pipeline," a means to assure that minority and disadvantaged students enter - and continue to pursue - careers in the legal profession.
