Gordon & Rees Co-Sponsors DRI Diversity for Success Seminar

Gordon & Rees proudly continues its sponsorship of the annual Diversity for Success Seminar provided by the Defense Research Institute on June 16-17 in Chicago. The firm's involvement in the event is led by San Francisco Partner Dominic Campodonico, the Chair of the Diversity Committee in Gordon & Rees's San Francisco office. Dominic is the Marketing Chair of DRI's Diversity Committee and is a member of the Diversity for Success Seminar and Corporate Expo Steering Committee.

On June 16, Dominic will be joined by co-panelists Carolina Den Brok-Perez, General Counsel for Kemira North America, and Asker A. Saeed, Counsel at IEA International Aero Engines, to discuss the topic of "Diversity in the 21st Century: Are We Speaking the Same Language?" The panelists will address the emerging movement in business and legal communities to advance the concept of diversity from the traditional categories of race, ethnicity, and gender to also include broader cultural and language differences. The panel will share best practices for staying in touch with shifting cultural demographics in order to create a more inclusive environment.

DRI's Diversity Committee is entering its second full year as a substantive law committee with more than 500 members and a 30-member steering committee representing law firms and businesses of all sizes throughout the U.S. "Promoting diversity in the legal profession requires a broad-based effort that leverages the perspective of all participants - law firms, clients, vendors, and schools. DRI's Diversity Committee plays a critical role in providing leadership and a forum to implement and measure our success. Gordon & Rees is proud to co-sponsor the Diversity for Success Seminar that helps keep the momentum strong," said Dominic Campodonico, a member of the Drug & Medical Device and Life Sciences practices.
