Robert Modica to Speak on Intruder/Negligent Security Cases at Premises Liability Conference

The New York State Bar Association's 2011 Premises Liability Conference, "Premises Liability – What You Need to Know in New York," is scheduled for April 8 in Long Island and Albany and April 15 in New York City. New York Senior Counsel Robert Modica will speak at the Long Island conference on the topic of "Intruder/Negligent Security Cases." He will discuss the principles of duty, forseeability and proximate cause, as well as security contractor issues, vicarious liability and CPLR Article 16 interplay.

The conference will present the most current information on the constantly changing and information-specific premises liability laws in the State of New York. Program sessions will include general insurance considerations for premises claims, property damage claims, liability for sporting activities, and tavern owner liability.

The program has been approved for 6.0 MCLE credits in New York and has also been approved for 5.0 MCLE credits by the State Bar of California and the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board.
