Kai Peters Delivers Keynote Presentation at NIH’s 2016 Bioinformatics Festival

Gordon & Rees partner Kai Peters will deliver a 30-minute keynote presentation at the National Institute of Health's 2016 Bioinformatics & Computational Biosciences Festival on October 21, 2016. The conference will be hosted at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland.

Peters will present the keynote address for the third session of the conference titled "Implications for the NIH Experience."  Peters’ presentation, entitled “Virtual Clinical Trials: The Law, Hurdles, Roadblocks, and the Path Forward,” will explore the legal landscape related to Virtual Clinical Trials (VCTs), including clinical trial agreements, Informed Consent, physicians, and data security and confidentiality. Peters will also participate in a panel discussion with other industry experts.

The festival will explore how VCTs are revolutionizing the typical randomized controlled study model. Creative thinkers from government agencies, academia, and the private sector will share innovative ideas and perspectives with the research community at the NIH, as scientists look at ways to develop an ideal environment for clinical research and patient care.
