Gordon & Rees Partner Mercedes Colwin Featured Moderator at Inaugural Women in Insurance Leadership ExecuSummit

New York Partner Mercedes Colwin will moderate a two-person panel discussion titled "Rising to the Top and Effectuating Change," on Tuesday, April 18 at the first annual Women in Insurance Leadership ExecuSummit in Uncasville, Connecticut. Panelists include Michele Fenice, Esq., Vice President at Chubb, and Mia Finsness, Esq., Director of Claims at Markel Corporation.

The Inaugural Women in Insurance Leadership Execsummit is a comprehensive day and a half leadership conference specifically designed for women in insurance. The conference features distinguished presenters that will share insight on the trends and strategies women need to succeed in the insurance industry including: 1) Equally valuing female and male leadership styles; 2) Encouraging women to grasp the Brass Ring; 3) Top down engagement for gender balanced initiatives; and 4) Learning from the practices of effective male leaders.

Mercedes Colwin is the Managing Partner of Gordon & Rees New York offices. She handles a wide variety of litigation including employment law, commercial litigation, products liability, civil rights violations and criminal law.  Ms. Colwin has successfully tried 49 cases to verdict in various jurisdictions throughout the nation and regularly defends executives from Fortune 500 companies charged with allegations of wrongdoing, including claims of sexual misconduct.
