David Gersten Teaches Course on Decision Making at The National Judicial College’s Seminar in Santa Fe, New Mexico

Former Chief Judge in Florida's Third District Court of Appeal and Gordon & Rees Miami Partner David Gersten will instruct a course on "Decision Making" at The National Judicial College's "Courses Across the Country" on December 9-12, 2019 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Gersten will join faculty members including judges and experts in the psychology of decision making and how personality type may impact decision making.

Gersten will discuss the factors that affect the judicial decision making process and will address the psychology of decision making, how personality types may influence decision making, ethical considerations that may impact decision making, how appellate courts review decisions and practical suggestions to aid in making decisions from the bench. 

Gersten and other faculty members will help attendees identify personal decision making style; explore issues of fairness and equity; examine the use of judicial discretion; analyze conflicts of interest and ethical dilemmas; recognize the factors that can cause an appellate court to overturn a decision; and write and communicate decisions more clearly.

This course is open to all types of adjudicators. The "Courses Across the Country" are a series of the National Judicial College's courses held at locations close to America's cultural and natural treasures.
