Alex Mahler is a partner in the Chicago and Milwaukee offices of Gordon & Rees. Mr. Mahler concentrates his practice on commercial litigation, insurance coverage, professional liability, fidelity/commercial crime, and environmental/mass tort.

Mr. Mahler is an experienced commercial litigator adept at successfully litigating and resolving all types of state and federal litigation. He routinely represents domestic and international insurers as coverage and litigation counsel in jurisdictions throughout the country. Mr. Mahler has broad-based experience in matters implicating professional liability, commercial general liability, commercial crime, and most other lines. In the context of coverage, his practice is focused on counseling insurers on the most complex coverage issues, preparing coverage analysis, and litigating those disputes in the jurisdiction in which they arise. Mr. Mahler also has extensive experience, through formal and informal mechanisms, in negotiating favorable resolutions of matters presenting complex legal issues and multi-million dollar exposures.

Prior to commencing his law practice, Mr. Mahler worked as a litigation and claims consultant for a "Big 4" accounting firm where he was involved in all aspects of litigation support and advisory services for the insurance industry. He also spent eight years in claims and litigation management for a number of prominent insurers, including an in-house position in the legal department of one of those companies. In 1996, Mr. Mahler was designated a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) by the insurance industry. Mr. Mahler is a frequent lecturer and author in the area of insurance litigation and coverage.
