Cameron Hitson is an associate in the Orange County office of Gordon & Rees and a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. Her practice focuses on defending creditors, debt buyers and collection and servicing agencies in FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA and bankruptcy related litigation.
Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Ms. Hitson worked in the Legal Department of one of the country’s largest privately owned consumer debt servicers defending against FDCPA, FCRA,TCPA and bankruptcy related claims. Ms. Hitson’s experience also includes interning as a Rule 9 Intern with the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit and Juvenile Prosecution Unit of the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office where she assisted in preliminary hearings, emergency arraignments, probable cause, plea and waiver hearings in juvenile court and conducted pretrial forfeiture negotiations. Ms. Hitson’s experience further includes clerking for a small personal injury and medical malpractice firm where she aided in discovery and pre-trial motions.
Prior to obtaining her J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law, Ms. Hitson studied international law while interning at the Central Criminal Court of England and Wales and was a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and Juvenile Law Society.
