Christina R. Spiezia is Senior Counsel at Gordon & Rees where she handles a wide variety of litigation matters for clients across the country in both federal and state courts. Ms. Spiezia concentrates her practice on commercial litigation, professional liability defense, and consumer and class action cases. Her experience also encompasses the litigation of federal employment claims.
Ms. Spiezia has represented businesses ranging from Fortune 500 companies to closely-held corporations in complex commercial disputes. Her superior writing skills, attention to detail, and extensive practice in federal court have proven to be invaluable in high stakes and high exposure litigation. These cases involve business torts, contract disputes, restrictive covenants, false advertising, fraud, and misappropriation of trade secrets, including requests for temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions. In the professional liability arena, Ms. Spiezia regularly defends lawyers, accountants, and professional agents and brokers in lawsuits stemming from alleged malpractice.
Ms. Spiezia’s class action work includes the defense of consumer protection, landlord-tenant, and federal statutory employment class claims. She often defends corporate entities from nationwide and statewide class claims arising under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and state law consumer statutes. In an effort to proactively combat these claims, she has assisted clients in identifying and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
A Southern California native, Ms. Spiezia ventured to the Midwest to earn her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, where she majored in Economics and Psychology and served as captain of the women’s water polo team. After working at a large commercial real estate company for two years, Ms. Spiezia obtained her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she tutored Legal Writing and received awards for her coursework in Legal Writing, Advocacy, and Business Organizations.
