David Phillips is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Gordon & Rees. Mr. Phillips has a dynamic business and employment litigation practice, working in both the firm’s Employment and Commercial Litigation Groups. Over the past 25 years, Mr. Phillips has amassed a vast body of trial experience relating to a wide array of complex business and employment disputes.
Mr. Phillips primarily defends businesses and individuals in a variety of complex business disputes, with an emphasis on business torts, and all forms of employment disputes, including extensive class action experience. Mr. Phillips has successfully defended companies and individuals against a wide variety of claims ranging from breach of contract to bad faith, tortious interference, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, conversion, and defamation. Mr. Phillips has likewise successfully defended companies and individuals against the full pantheon of employment claims including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and all manner of wage and hour claims.
Mr. Phillips has a broad litigation background, practicing in both state and federal courts. Over the course of his career, Mr. Phillips has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants in both trial and appellate courts. Although Mr. Phillips’s practice currently focuses primarily on defending clients in litigation, Mr. Phillips's comprehensive background effectively positions him to assist the firm’s clients in achieving the most cost-effective resolution to almost any challenge that they may face and in eschewing unnecessary risk.
