Connecticut Rising Star® in the areas of Product Liability and Employment Litigation: Defense (2016-2017)

Ms. Busch handles a wide range of litigation matters in the areas of product liability law, toxic tort and mass-tort litigation, including defending claims against manufacturers of complex commercial machinery, and has handled complex personal injury and property suits involving alleged catastrophic injuries, including wrongful death and survivorship claims, and environmental contamination. She also has experience defending property claims involving premises damages and economic loss.

In addition, Ms. Busch also regularly represents employers in disputes in Connecticut and Massachusetts State and federal courts, and before federal and state administrative agencies. She has defended employers accused of wrongdoing including claims of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, hostile work environment, infliction of emotional distress, and retaliation. Ms. Busch is also involved in assisting as liaison counsel for over 100 law firms and 150 defendants in toxic tort litigation in Connecticut. In this role, Ms. Busch assists counsel in docket management, discovery, medical workup, and motion practice.

During law school, Ms. Busch worked as a judicial intern to an associate justice of the Massachusetts Appeals Court. She also spent a year as both a student prosecutor in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in Dorchester, MA and as a law clerk for a prominent regional litigation firm in Boston before joining Gordon & Rees in the fall of 2014. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Ms. Busch earned her B.A. in Political Science and History at the University of Vermont, as well as her J.D., cum laude, at Suffolk University Law School in Boston, MA with a concentration in Trial and Appellate Advocacy, with honors. During law school, she was a member and the managing editor for the Journal of Health and Biomedical Law, and was a criminal law teaching assistant for the Honorable John Greaney (Ret.).
