Biography

Desireé J. C. Goff is a Senior Counsel with the Intellectual Property, Entertainment, and Commercial Litigation practice groups.

Desireé’s practice focuses on intellectual property and complex commercial litigation in both state and federal courts. She is a registered practitioner before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and assists clients in navigating the complex patent application process, providing insight in obtaining patents on innovative products and processes. In addition, Desireé counsels businesses on trademark protection at the state and federal level. Ms. Goff performs patent searches and freedom to operate opinions and manages intellectual property portfolios for clients. Desireé successfully handles intellectual property and commercial disputes in various business sectors through mediation, arbitration, and in state and federal court as necessary to protect her client’s interests. She provides counseling on licensing and assigning intellectual property rights in a variety of technical and scientific sectors including manufacturing and biotechnology.

Desireé has experience with a variety of commercial litigation matters, including employment disputes, non-competition agreements, interference with contracts or business relationships, breach of fiduciary duty cases, disputes over corporate management and control, contract actions, and real estate transactions. Desireé’s employment law experience includes administrative proceedings before the EEOC, and numerous trials and mediations representing corporations in state and federal employment law matters involving Title VII, the FLSA, the FMLA, the ADEA and the ADA. Ms. Goff additionally works with clients in the entertainment realm, providing counseling and representation as necessary to protect their interests in both intellectual property and employment matters.
