Geoffrey Squitiero has been a civil litigator for his entire career of nearly 30 years. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Mr. Squitiero worked at a major Connecticut firm for nearly 5 years and for more than 25 years as a partner at a small litigation firm where he was involved in all phases of the litigation process. Mr. Squitiero has tried cases to verdict in both state and federal courts in Connecticut and has argued cases before the Connecticut Supreme Court and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York City.

Mr. Squitiero has defended clients involved in toxic tort claims, including claims involving oil spills, water contamination and claims relating to exposure to pollutants and chemicals. Over the past 20 years, his toxic tort practice has been focused on the defense of manufacturers and suppliers of products regarding claims asserting exposure to asbestos in Connecticut state and federal courts.

Mr. Squitiero has represented individual and corporate clients, including claims alleging negligence, automobile and trucking liability, municipal liability and law enforcement liability, product liability, professional liability and errors and omissions. In addition, Mr. Squitiero has been retained by insurance carriers to render coverage opinions and defend insurance coverage claims.

Mr. Squitiero has also dealt with all aspects of alternative dispute resolution throughout his career. He has handled cases which were submitted to both private and court­annexed mediations as well as arbitration matters. He has also submitted and presented cases before mediators and arbitrators through the American Arbitration Association pursuant to their rules. Mr. Squitiero has served as an Attorney Trial Referee in the Fairfield Judicial District.

Mr. Squitiero has received the "AV Preeminent Rating" by Martindale­Hubbell legal directory. The AV Rating is the highest possible ranking awarded to a lawyer and is established wholly on a peer­review basis. This rating is awarded to less than five percent of all attorneys in the country. He has been selected for inclusion as a Super Lawyers®. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, the New Haven County Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute.
