Jason C. Scott is senior counsel in the Westchester office of Gordon & Rees and is a member of the Commercial Litigation and Tort & Product Liability practice groups. He has represented hospitals, hedge fund financing companies, municipalities, an Ivy League university, and companies of different sizes in various types of complex litigation. His diverse litigation practice has included shareholder derivative suits, class actions, cases involving unfair and deceptive trade practices, breach of contract, disputes involving restrictive covenants, LLC member disputes, complex and multi-district litigation and premises liability.
Taking an aggressive posture with all litigation, Mr. Scott regularly tries cases for his clients. Having conducted several hundred hearings, jury, and non-jury trials throughout New York State, he is prepared to fight for his clients. Jason is one of a few attorneys who have been trained by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA).
Mr. Scott is a former Assistant Corporation Counsel with the New York City Office of Corporation Counsel. He successfully defended the City of New York, its composite agencies and employees in the Brooklyn Tort Unit.
He is admitted to practice in New York, Connecticut, and the District of Columbia. Mr. Scott graduated from Pace Law School where he was a member of the Pace Environmental Law Review. He also holds master’s degrees from Harvard University and SUNY New Paltz and attended SUNY Cortland for his undergraduate degree.
