Mr. Kopco devotes a substantial portion of his practice in defending both public-sector and private-sector employers from a variety of employment-related matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, and whistleblower claims in state and federal court, as well as before state and federal administrative agencies, like the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the National Labor Relations Board. He also assists employers in creating and implementing effective personnel policies that aim to protect against litigation, and represents client in enforcing non-compete agreements and negotiating severance agreements.
Mr. Kopco assists professionals in defending against professional negligence claims. He represents attorneys, house inspectors, licensed agents, and other professionals in malpractice and related matters. He demonstrates a sensitivity and understanding to the needs and concerns of professionals in cases involving their work and reputation.
Mr. Kopco represents insurers in coverage litigation involving commercial general liability and inland marine policies. He utilizes his experience in construction litigation to assist his clients in coverage determinations and developing effective strategies to address coverage disputes in construction-based actions. Mr. Kopco also works with insurers to address coverage issues related to fraud and cooperation concerns with insureds.
In addition to his employment and insurance practices, Mr. Kopco defends private businesses in various commercial litigation matters. He assists companies both large and small, including staffing agencies, information technology enterprise, and other commercial businesses in developing effective solutions to their litigations needs and efforts to prevent litigation. He also has more than 10 years of experience assisting condominium associations in enforcing and protecting their association rights and governing documents, as well as enforcing policies against and collecting dues from unit owners. Mr. Kopco also has experience in enforcing franchise agreements and trademarks and collecting accounts receivable.

Mr. Kopco represents the interests of public entities, including large municipalities, in defending against allegations of civil rights violations. He assists towns in responding to a variety of claims implicating state and federal civil rights law, including allegations of violations of the First Amendment, violations of Section 1983, such as the utilization of excessive force, and violations of the Fourteenth Amendment including the equal protection clause
