John A. Castro is an associate in the San Francisco office of Gordon & Rees. He is a member of the Construction Practice Group. He has experience representing the interests of architects, owners, developers, general contractors, and subcontractors in all facets of litigation. This includes pre-litigation investigation and case analysis, formal litigation including discovery, settlement negotiation and case evaluation, motion practice, and trial. Mr. Castro also has prior experience at the California appellate level.

In his practice Mr. Castro has handled issues relating to contracts and insurance, construction (including defect, delay, repair, reconstruction, betterment, and licensing issues), negligence (including causation and joint and several liability), products liability, contractual indemnity, and equitable indemnity. Mr. Castro has represented clients in both commercial and residential settings.

Mr. Castro previously worked on civil trials as a research attorney at San Francisco Superior Court. While there he worked in the Department of the Presiding Judge for the Honorable James J. McBride, and later for the Honorable Katherine Feinstein. During the same period he worked on misdemeanor appeals and civil writs for the Appellate Division. As a student, Mr. Castro was the Executive Articles Editor and Symposium Editor for the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly. While in law school, Mr. Castro externed for the Honorable A. James Robertson, II at San Francisco Superior Court.
