Jonas Harger is an associate in the Chicago office of Gordon & Rees and is a member of the Insurance practice group.
Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Mr. Harger was an Assistant Attorney General in the Public Integrity Bureau. While there, he investigated and prosecuted public corruption including elected officials, business vendors and state employees. He was responsible for evaluating allegations of corruption and recommended whether an investigation was warranted. Mr. Harger managed a large caseload encompassing a wide array of charges including: Personal Use of Charitable Assets, Financial Institution Fraud, Continuing Financial Crimes Enterprise, Money Laundering, Embezzlement, Wire Fraud, Structuring, Forgery and other white collar criminal offenses from various Inspectors General, state/federal law enforcement agencies and state regulatory agencies.
Mr. Harger also successfully argued motions in a murder case in Sangamon County, Illinois resulting in the Defendant pleading guilty and being sentenced to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Mr. Harger is a Navy veteran and deployed twice for Operation Enduring Freedom. During his wartime deployments, he was recognized as a Junior Sailor of the Quarter and received two letters of commendation from the Commander of the Carl Vinson Battle Group.
