Biography

Jonathan A. Barnes is a Partner in the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore offices of GRSM and is a member of the Commercial Litigation and Healthcare practice groups. His experience spans complex business litigation matters involving healthcare, employment, professional liability, insurance coverage, and products liability.  Jonathan advises clients on a wide range of matters and assists in resolving, prosecuting, and defending against lawsuits, arbitrations, and appeals.  He also has experience representing businesses and individuals in matters involving consumer protection, cyber security and privacy risks, breach of contract, fraud, negligence, and employment.

Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from New York University. He earned his Juris Doctor from the George Washington University School of Law. During law school, he served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Lee F. Satterfield, the former Chief Judge of the District of Columbia Superior Court. Upon graduation, Jonathan served as the first law clerk to the Honorable Richard E. Jordan of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County Maryland.

Jonathan worked for several law firms prior to joining GRSM, including a boutique commercial litigation firm and a medical malpractice law firm, after spending several years in the public sector as an Assistant State’s Attorney for the State’s Attorneys Office of Montgomery County Maryland.
