Kara Keister is a member of the Employment practice group of Gordon & Rees. Ms. Keister has extensive experience in employment litigation, assisting clients with claims including wrongful termination, discrimination and harassment, breach of contract, whistleblower, retaliation and wage and hour violations in both state and federal court. Ms. Keister also has comprehensive law and motion experience including motions for summary judgment. Ms. Keister has represented clients before the DFEH, EEOC, State Personnel Board, Labor Commissioner and the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board.
Prior to joining Gordon & Rees she focused on representing a wide variety of clients in employment matters where she had the opportunity to focus on representing employees, providing her a unique understanding of many aspects of employment lawsuits that she can utilize in her current practice.
In addition to her employment litigation experience, Ms. Keister has also drafted hundreds of estate plans for her clients, including drafting trusts, wills, powers of attorney and advanced healthcare directives. Ms. Keister understands the value of comprehensive and personalized estate plans so that her clients’ assets will be properly handled in the event of death or incapacitating illnesses.
