Kjersten H. Turpen is a partner in the Portland office. Her practice includes defending liability claims on behalf of product manufacturers and suppliers, as well as representing employers in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination matters. She represents clients in state and federal courts, and in matters filed with agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the State of Washington Human Rights Commission, and the State of Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries. She regularly provides counseling to employers on a variety of personnel issues, including policies and procedures, hiring, termination, leaves, overtime compensation, and disability. She also provides sexual harassment prevention and other trainings, and serves as an independent investigator into employee complaints.
Ms. Turpen is a member of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel and currently serves as the Employment Practice Group Publications Liaison.
Prior to private practice, Ms. Turpen twice served as a federal judicial clerk, first to the Honorable Michael R. Hogan in Eugene, followed by the Honorable Malcolm F. Marsh in Portland.
