Kristina James is of counsel in the Denver office of Gordon & Rees and is a member of the Health Care, Appellate, Commercial Litigation and Insurance practice groups. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Ms. James served for eleven years as Career Law Clerk to the Honorable Michael E. Hegarty, United States Magistrate Judge, at the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. In this role, she conducted research and drafted proposed orders and recommendations for dispositive matters in all areas of law over which the court had jurisdiction. In addition, she assisted Judge Hegarty in the resolution of various pretrial matters, including discovery disputes, and in the facilitation of alternative dispute resolution proceedings, including settlement conferences and early neutral evaluations.
Ms. James started her legal career in Denver practicing employment law with Todd J. McNamara and the Honorable William J. Martinez (United States District Judge since 2010), where, for nine years, she engaged in all aspects of litigation and pre-litigation functions necessary to resolve her clients’ employment issues and disputes.
