Laura Grubb Sandman is an associate in the Houston office of Gordon & Rees and is a member of the Employment and Commercial Litigation practice groups.
Ms. Sandman represents employers and high-level executives in employment litigation matters involving allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and breach of employment contract. Her specific practice areas include labor and employment relations, including employment discrimination, wage and hour issues, traditional labor, independent contractors and contingent workforce, workplace investigations, and employment agreements, including employment, severance and arbitration agreements, non-competition agreements and confidentiality agreements. Ms. Sandman has experience with relevant statutes and laws, including Title VII, FLSA, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, EEOC, OSHA retaliation provisions, and 42 U.S.C. §§ 1981 and 1983.
Additionally, Ms. Sandman counsels employees and employers on a variety of personnel matters including termination and discipline decisions, non-compete and solicitation issues, fiduciary duties, discrimination, disability accommodation, leaves of absence, wage and hour issues, and employee privacy. She also assists with drafting and revising employment agreements, severance agreements, arbitration agreements, independent contractor agreements, employee applications, employee policies, and employee handbooks/manuals.
