Lauren M. Kelly concentrates her practice in health care law with a particular emphasis in medical malpractice defense. Ms. Kelly defends health care providers, including hospitals, nursing homes and physician practice groups, and health care professionals, including doctors and nurses, in all aspects of medical negligence actions, from inception through trial. Ms. Kelly has tried multiple professional liability cases to verdict, serving as both first-and second-chair trial counsel.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Kelly worked as an associate at a large, international law firm, where she practiced in the area of financial services litigation. There, her practice involved defending banks and other financial institutions in class actions related to the banking, retail, consumer finance and securities industries. She also represented corporate clients, including both public and closely held companies, in shareholder derivative suits.
During law school, Ms. Kelly served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Debra M. Todd of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, and was a legal writing teaching assistant for Professor Nancy Burkoff at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Ms. Kelly is a member of the Founders Board of the Children’s Trust of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. The Trust supports innovative research and programs at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and provides volunteer opportunities and services to serve the more than one million children and their families who visit Children’s Hospital for care.
Ms. Kelly has also been involved with the Syrian American Medical Society Foundation (“SAMS Foundation”), which funds the medical needs of civilian victims of the war in Syria, and also assists Syrian refugees with resettlement in the United States and elsewhere.
