Leanne M. Gaefke is an Associate at the Pittsburgh office of Gordon & Rees and is a member of the firm's Energy, Real Estate, Environmental/Toxic Tort and Commercial Litigation practice groups. She concentrates her practice on transaction-based oil and gas and real estate matters and the defense of toxic tort/asbestos claims for a wide range of manufacturing entities in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio.
Ms. Gaefke counsels various regional and national oil and gas exploration and development companies on matters throughout the Appalachian region, including acquisitions and divestitures, leasing and title issues, management of large due diligence projects, curative, and midstream/pipeline disputes. She is experienced in the preparation of various types of title opinions, including leasehold, drilling, and division order title opinions, the analysis of complex ownership, heirships and leasehold chains, as well as ownership issues relating to current and former railroads, roadways and waterways. She also routinely drafts purchase and sale agreements, deeds, leases, affidavits and other related documents for both energy and real estate clients.
In her litigation practice, Ms. Gaefke has handled a variety of disputes for both E&P and midstream oil and gas clients. She also devotes a substantial portion of her practice to the defense of asbestos/toxic tort claims for several different manufacturing clients of the firm and routinely counsels clients in all aspects of civil litigation, including discovery, motions practice, hearings, and settlement negotiations.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Gaefke worked in the Energy and Real Estate departments of a regional law firm.
