Maxine J. Nicholas is an associate in the New Jersey office of Gordon & Rees and is a member of the Employment and Professional Liability Defense practice groups.
Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Ms. Nicholas represented public entities in various areas of the law, focusing on local government and labor and employment law. Additionally, Ms. Nicholas served as a hearing officer for public employee disciplinary hearings and investigated harassment and discrimination complaints. Ms. Nicholas also conducted anti-harassment and discrimination training for public employees. Before going into private practice, Ms. Nicholas served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Marybeth Rogers, J.S.C. in Hudson County, New Jersey.
Ms. Nicholas graduated from Gettysburg College in 2011, receiving a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. Ms. Nicholas earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2014. While completing her legal education, Ms. Nicholas interned for the Hon. Patricia A. Sullivan, U.S.M.J. of the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island and for the United States Attorney’s Office in Providence, Rhode Island. Additionally, Ms. Nicholas served as the Managing Editor for the Roger Williams University Law Review.
