As a partner in Gordon & Rees’s Portland office, Molly McKay Williams’ practice focuses on commercial litigation specializing in toxic tort, environmental, products liability, and other types of personal injury cases. Her toxic tort experience is well-rounded and includes mold, asbestos and dry cleaning chemical contamination cases.
Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Ms. Williams developed considerable experience in the assisted housing industry and in construction defect litigation.
Ms. Williams has been nationally recognized for her work in securing civil rights for the lesbian and gay community and has been featured in several documentaries on this subject. She co-founded Marriage Equality USA in 1996. She has received the Harvey Milk Democratic Club Community Service Award (2005), the Alice B. Toklas Community Service Award (2008), and GLOBE Community Service Award (2008). In the June 2010 edition of California Lawyer magazine, Molly authored a feature article on marriage equality for same-sex couples entitled "Bridal Advocacy" and is a contributing author to “The People’s Victory: Stories from the Front Lines in the Fight for Marriage Equality” published in 2017.
