Paige J. Casey is an Associate in the Birmingham office of GRSM and is a member of the Employment Law practice group. She has experience handling cases involving medical malpractice, age and race discrimination, banking, FDCPA, TILA, FCRA, and tort and contractual disputes.

• Obtained summary judgment for nursing home in a wrongful death action following the death of a special needs resident from complications from a boil/lesion on her groin.
• Obtained summary judgment in a matter against a mortgage company for violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act (and numerous other state law claims) by its credit inquiries and loan application process.
• Obtained summary judgment in favor of logistics company after a former employee brought age discrimination claims against it complaining he was terminated due to his age.
• Obtained jury defense verdict after a week-long trial in Elmore County, Alabama, in favor of a gasoline remediation company who effectively and efficiently remediated over 11,000 gallons of gasoline that leaked from an underground storage tank.
• Represented special servicer in negotiations related to defaulted non-recourse loan for an office building in Alabama. After discovering that the members of the LLC diverted over $500,000 in rents, we initiated a lawsuit to recover the funds, citing breach of contract, fraudulent conveyance, conspiracy, monies had and received/unjust enrichment, conversion, and intentional interference with contractual relations. Following a bench trial, the Circuit Court of Calhoun County, Alabama agreed, awarding our special servicer client more than $1.6 million in compensatory damages, prejudgment interest and punitive damages.
