Randolph Andrew Scott is an associate in the Commercial Litigation practice group in the New Jersey office of Gordon & Rees. He handles litigation matters in both state and federal court. Mr. Scott is well-versed in Federal Consumer Protection Laws and State Unfair, Deceptive Acts and Practices and regularly represents clients against claims that allege violations of the Federal Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Mr. Scott also defends clients in matters asserting causes of action under New Jersey’s Consumer Fraud Act and New York’s General Business Law.

Mr. Scott also assists in representing a broad variety of firm clients in matters involving construction disputes, ridesharing liability, trucking and transportation claims, franchise law, and banking and finance issues.

Mr. Scott participated in a legal externship in 2016 at the New Jersey Superior Court, General Equity, Hudson County, under the guidance of the Honorable Barry P. Sarkisian, where he dealt with various matters, including toxic tort and other property disputes.

In 2015, Mr. Scott was privileged to have worked as a law clerk in the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, where he aided in prosecuting violators of the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act.

Mr. Scott was published in February 2017, in the Seton Hall Law Review Journal, volume 47, Issue 2, Article 7, where he offered an enlightening survey of the Federal and several state anti-gambling laws and carve-outs for Fantasy Sports in light of the emergence of Daily Fantasy Sports contests. As Comments Editor of the Seton Hall Law Review, Mr. Scott was responsible for editing comments and verifying journal compliance for authors scheduled for publication in the Seton Hall Law Review.
