Biography

Tara Sanderson is an Associate in the Florham Park office on GRSM. She is a member of the firm's Commercial Litigation practice group. Throughout her career, she has acquired diverse experience in litigation matters. Prior to joining GRSM, Tara served as an Associate for a New York-based firm specializing in consumer protection law and handled defense litigation matters. While there, she managed a high caseload, which included counseling clients, risk management, motion practice, mediation, and settlement negotiations. Tara has developed extensive experience in negotiating litigious matters and finding creative alternative resolutions to advocate for and protect my client’s interests.

Earlier in her career, Tara served as a judicial law clerk to Judge Stephen L. Petrillo in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Family Part, which oversees matters relating to the abuse, neglect, and abandonment of children, guardianship matters, and child support and custody matters. During this time, she completed a Landlord/Tenant mediation certification. Tara was also a Paralegal for a solo practitioner where she managed the negotiation and execution of real estate contracts through closing, resolved title issues, and prepared all required documents for residential real estate matters.

Tara earned her Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University, School of Law. During law school, she completed a judicial externship with the Honorable Michael A. Shipp, J.S.C. of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Tara was also selected for a Justice Robert L. Clifford Fellowship. This fellowship program was created in honor of the former New Jersey Supreme Court Justice, also known as the court’s ‘exacting grammarian’, and is presented to excelling first year law students. Thereafter, she competed in the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial competition, won best brief in the Gressman Moot Court Competition, served as a Research Fellow in Seton Hall’s Center for Policy and Research and served as a Student Attorney in the Center for Social Justice’s Equal Justice Clinic. Tara also served as the Chief Marketing Officer in the Corporate Law Society, a member in the Black Law Students Association, and completed training in the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.
